Have you always wanted to improve your smile but been afraid of how braces will make you look? Fear no more: Invisalign is the invisible way to straighten teeth.
How Invisalign Can Benefit You
The most obvious benefit to Invisalign is that it is invisible. You get to achieve the smile of your dreams without sporting metal braces. However, that is not the only plus side to opting for this unique form of treatment. Other ways Invisalign can benefit you include:
- Getting faster results than with traditional braces
- Enjoying a customized fit not offered with most types of braces
- Proven effectiveness on conditions such as crossbites, open bites, gapped teeth, and more.
- Being able to eat and drink what you want
- Not having to relearn how to brush and floss
- Enjoying the comfort that the smooth plastic offers over metal braces
- Being able to see us less often since you make adjustments at home
What to Expect From the Invisalign Process
Your journey will start with the initial consultation. There, we will discuss your needs and what you want from treatment. By the end of the appointment, we will know if Invisalign is right for you.
If it is, we begin working on your custom treatment plan. We use the iTero digital scanning system to map the teeth, gums, and bone structure and this is then fed to the Invisalign software program. Based on the scan, the program crafts a treatment plan that the doctor can then tweak as needed. The plan is broken down into steps and each step becomes an aligner.
The treatment plan, once finalized, is sent off to a lab. There, the aligners are created and sent to us. Once we have them, we call you in to make sure all looks well, then send you home with the aligners to start your treatment.
Throughout treatment, you wear the aligners for at least 22 hours a day. Depending on your needs, you may move to a new aligner every week or every other week. With each new aligner, your teeth move a bit more. We see you every six to eight weeks.
Once you have worn all the aligners, it is time for the retention phase. We will give you a Vivera retainer to hold your teeth in their ideal positions.
That’s it: the entire Invisalign process from start to finish. Now that you know how it works, are you ready to get started? Just give us a call to find out if it is right for you.
